Digital Torque Tester

The Digital Torque TesterTM (DTT) is designed to be an affordable torque tester that can be mounted on a wall or used in a bench-top vise to allow the operator to conveniently test torque wrenches and torque screwdrivers. It features an easy to use touch pad screen with selectable English or Metric units of measure to capture peak torque values during a test in real time, and download stored torque data to a PC. CDI Digital Torque Tester built-in transducers provide industry standard female square drives, and a full bridge strain gage sensing element. Transducers can withstand a torque of 25% over full range. All DTT torque testers are sold in a kit with the tester, carrying case and AC/DC power supply. 

Torque Values

Capture and display torque values in one of four selectable modes:

• CLICK ADJUST (First Peak): Responds to the drop-off in torque caused by the “click” of an adjustable wrench. FIRST PEAK torque is measured, captured and displayed (CW or CCW) just prior to the drop-off, even if click torque is subsequently exceeded.
• CLICK PRESET (First Peak): Responds to the drop-off in torque caused by the “click” of a preset wrench. FIRST PEAK torque is measured, captured and displayed (CW or CCW) just prior to the drop-off, even if click torque is subsequently exceeded.
• DIAL/ELECTRONIC (Peak Hold): Captures and displays the highest torque applied (CW or CCW) until reset. Use to check dial indicating and electronic torque wrenches.
• SCREWDRIVER (Peak Hold): Captures and displays the highest torque applied (CW or CCW) until reset. Use to check torque limiting screwdrivers.

Test modes:

• QUICK MODE: The Quick Mode is a fast and precise way used when verifying torque wrench readings.
• AUDIT MODE: The Audit mode is an ASME emulation which tests the wrench at 20%, 60% and 100% of full scale. This provides a complete diagnostic analysis of the wrench. Testing validates the linearity of the wrench.

Mounting

The CDI Digital Torque TesterTM (DTT) is designed to be an affordable torque tester that can be mounted on a wall or used in a bench-top vise to allow the operator to conveniently test torque wrenches and torque screwdrivers. Vertical mounting on a wall or heavy pillar is preferred for most wrench and tool testing. The DTT can also be mounted vertically to a horizontal surface using a right angle bracket (optional).
